Quantum Tangle: Targon Tales - Sethran 1

An interesting premise and well written piece of scifi, fun and light. The idea of two minds inhabiting the same body is an often explored theme but Chris Reher does a very good job of it while keeping the writing very "hard" scifi rather than getting into fantasy and magic. His universe of the Union and Rebel factions is interesting and provides a good stage upon which to reveal his stories.

Quntum Tangle is my first Reher novel, and as a keen space opera enthusiast i am quite impressed. His writing style leaves the reader in suspense as he unravels a well thought out plot towards a satisfying conclusion. Indeed this novel was an exciting read that any sci fi fan would find quite indulging!

I loved it. You get a good visual of the characters & their current surroundings without being over elaborated on. Too much detail can ruin a good story. You get pulled into the story just like those written by Roger Zelazny, David Eddings or Douglas Adams. Though it feels a little rushed, this is a great read. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that I really wished that it was more like 400 -600 pages long. I love a thick novel that I can really sink my teeth into. I can't give my opinion on how the book had ended without spoiling it for others. We all have our preferences (mine would probably have ended the series right there) but it gives a good lead-in to the next book in the series, also another excellent read. There is nothing better than to come out of reading a good book, taking a deep breath and saying "Wow. What a ride!"
