Inspired Mama is the ultimate mind, body, and lifestyle guide for women seeking to live their best life in motherhood.

As mothers, women tend to give up on their personal dreams and emotional self-care in order to take care of their families. Too often, we end up giving in to social pressures and external expectations rather than living the life we dream about: a life of freedom and inspiration.

The truth is freedom is the highest vibrational element that every woman must embody to live an extraordinary life, but it's harder than ever to embody freedom as a mother. Inspired Mama empowers women to align with their best life through self-reflection, intentional manifestation, and wanderlust, so you can heal yourself and your family through your own spiritual self-care.

In this audiobook, you'll discover how to free your mind, body, and spirit, so you can live an authentic lifestyle, customized for the amazing woman you are.

You'll discover:

  • Ways to replace old habits with nourishing new ones
  • Simple and practical actions that free you emotionally, physically, and financially
  • High vibrational living that gets you into alignment with your highest self
  • Steps to dive deep into adventures that break you out of your restricted comfort zone

You will be supported in making incremental, potent changes to your life that awaken you to the unbridled joy of inspired, intentional, and conscious living.

After listening to this book, you will rediscover yourself as a woman in motherhood and learn how to align with the infinite abundance of the universe. You will also learn how to live by your own unique energetic blueprint and start intentionally manifesting the life of your dreams.

Motherhood is the ultimate balancing act. Freeing the woman within is essential to finding fulfillment and purpose with your family and beyond.

Great Baby Shower Gift!

Great Baby Shower Gift!
See Kristiansen is a self-actualized woman. She has the words of insight and life experience of a deeply valued, sister friend. I’d give this book as a gift ranging from birthday, baby shower, or as travel companion. This is a compact, comprehensive guide on intentional living. If more women read books like this before motherhood, they might be better supported and prepared for the challenges of how to balance self-care that come with motherhood. This book is laid out well and easy to read. I found it to be like a written version of what I perceive YouTube channels on slow living to demonstrate. She seemingly covers every area of life in a very concise manner. One of my favorite passages is the one highlighted in the photograph, “These little acts of rebellion teach our children that while rules keep you safe, you can also define terms and conditions for fun.” As the book goes on to demonstrate, the same can be said for mothers: little acts of (social) rebellion can help women define life on their own terms without feeling like an outcast.

I’ve read plenty of books in this genre, Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist, More for Mom by Kristin Funston, and Do Less by Kate Northrup, just to name a few. Some have hit and some haven’t. The ones that missed, for me, missed because they only skimmed the surface, or focused too much on the why and not enough on the what now?

What truly sets this book apart is that it isn’t just beautiful storytelling. It does have gorgeous and vivid storytelling, but it also has a practical action plan. It’s more guide book than story book and that appeals to my practical sensibilities.

If you’re looking for a go-to book that won’t just tell you to slow down and build an intentional life, but will tell you exactly what steps to take to make it happen, grab yourself a copy of Inspired Mama: The Empowered Mother’s Guide to and Intentional Life by Sez Kristiansen.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This review contains my honest opinions, which I have not been compensated for in any way.

Inspired Mama

Inspired Mama is not just a book for Mother’s, it is a book for all women. The introduction about the author is inspiring by itself.

Love this quote from chapter 2, “ Wisdom means not only having knowledge, but being able to act on that knowledge.”

A good lesson to learn in chapter 5 is how physical health and mental health are connected. That is something we don’t always remember.

There is lot of great information in the book. I recommend reading Inspired Mama.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher. This book review is my own opinion.

This past year I received an email TCK publishing asking me if I was interested in reading a book called Inspired Mama in exchange for an honest review. I thought that it might be a little hippy dippy but it turns out it was exactly what I needed to read when I read it in November 2020.

Sez is a TCK or third culture kid. She has lived all over the world and before writing this book she moved to Norway with her husband and was working in the fashion industry job when she decided she needed to make changes and started her quest to spiritual enlightenment and fulfillment.

This book is broken into three parts. Part 1: Freedom of mind. Part 2: Freedom of life and part 3 Freedom of comfort zones.

I appreciate that this book is not cliche even though I have read a lot of the same advice in other books. However, there are plenty of fantastic quotes in it that resounded with me and did not feel trite or put in there just to sound good. Here are few:

"If you have knowledge but fail to act, you can never be the true creator of your own life. If you act without knowledge, you will be stuck in repetitive cycles of thoughts, emotions, and consequences."
Sez Kristiansen. Inspired Mama (Kindle Locations 272-273). TCK Publishing. Kindle Edition.

"Meditation encourages you to accept yourself as you are: an ever-changing dynamic being. When you acknowledge your liquidity, you see that all life is flow and movement. The more you resist and conflict with that flow, the more you suffer. Resistance, which keeps you stuck in life, is released in meditation, allowing you to flow effortlessly."
Sez Kristiansen. Inspired Mama (Kindle Locations 517-520). TCK Publishing. Kindle Edition.

"Many studies indicate that when you concentrate on only one activity, you are significantly happier than when you try to do many things at once."
Sez Kristiansen. Inspired Mama (Kindle Locations 677-678). TCK Publishing. Kindle Edition.

If I could get that one down I think I would be much happier. I notice that when I am really engaged in play with my kids I am much happier than when I am thinking about what I need to be doing next. Living in the moment is the way to go apparently. Who'd have thought?

I appreciate the practical advice like setting an alarm to make you mindful of your thoughts and try and look at them from a distance. It is a way to practice mindfulness before getting into a really upsetting situation where emotions run high and responses come out sooner than they should before thinking about them. This happens a lot as a mom. There have been plenty of times when I look back at situations and think "if I had only stopped for a minute to take a breath, I would not have reacted the way I did."

This book is called Inspired Mama but it is not solely based on a woman being a mother and I appreciate that. This book is for women though. Men could read it and maybe get some insight too but it is definitely written for women. It is a quick read and worth your time if you are interested in changing habits and shifting your life to be more productive and fulfilling.

Inspired Mama encourages the reader to listen to their intuition in the path toward finding the life they want. The author tells her story of how she didn't settle, but actively sought out a life that aligned with her core emotions and goals (after hitting a low point). I appreciated the advice in this book--as evidenced by how many many pages I have marked and notes in the margins. It's called Inspired Mama, but I would recommend it for not just mamas, but anyone who wants to live a more intentional life of purpose.

The introduction is the author's story, at least some of which many mamas can relate: the crushing weight of expectations versus reality, balancing motherhood while not losing your identity, and being overwhelmed by emotions. However, most of her story is not relatable. The author grew up in South Africa as a child of two refugees whose families fled Europe and did very well for themselves in their new home. She traveled Europe and private islands for extended periods of time. She worked in high-end jobs, with salaries to match. Many moms, certainly not the ones I know, cannot relate to this lifestyle. Each person's perspective is based on the reality they know and it was difficult to see this woman's point of view.

As the author outlines her path to "living your best life," the New Age and Buddist influences resonate loudly. She uses words and phrases like "creating your highest self," "manifestation," "potency," and "levels of consciousness." As I listened, the words seemed more like a guide to self-worship than living intentionally. Some pieces of her outline could apply to a larger audience but those are overshadowed by the illustrations she uses from her own life.

I expected to be inspired, to follow a mama's journey and share the lessons she learned, something that would apply across all demographics and experiences. Instead, I felt like I'd received a manual on "How to be your Own Goddess: a guide to self-worship." This is vanity, not inspiration.
