wanted to like it but as a martial artist it really irritated me that he did not do his research. He has the character with Japanese heritage, with ancestral samurai swords etc but learns and teaches Kung Fu, which is Chinese. Probably won't bother most people but I couldn't see past it.

rereading as I read it on a pirated website, and loved the series so much I wanted to spend money and read the series again to support the author. I love the writing style and its still so good even after a reread

I have read entire series without spoiling too much it's not your Harry Potter series but almost just enjoyable and easy too read but their are 2 bad things about that doesn't give a perfect score. one is each chapter and book are too short and because if that each book doesn't have a finality except for the first one. each just seem to flow to the next one..example one book could end in the middle of the yr with bad guy arrested the the next book picks up that in the same school yr as they return from winter break. the second problem is the book is about the MC being first male wizard in a world where only girls have magic and all the adventure and problems he has but that's just 40% of what each is. each chapter or every other is about other characters and what they are doing while MC is doing his thing that's 60% of each book. it series would be better if each book or 80% of it was about MC and less about other charters point of view
