First time I read this writer and I really, really like her. Her plot was clever, extremely well-written using almost no cliches, including the sex scenes. She has a superb vocabulary and chooses her words well. Always when I read, I think about the mechanics of the writing and often read a phrase or clause and then re-write it in my head to make it clearer or more efficient. I cannot remember once re-writing through the entire book. I think I especially enjoyed that even though the story was a romance, the love interest never distracted from the plot development. It only enhanced the story line. I would willingly read more of this author's work and do not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone who enjoys space opera. It was a most enjoyable way to shut out the mundane for 5 hours or so. Well Done!!

well written sci-fi with secrets, thefts, sex and intrigue

About the author

Susan lives out on the Canadian west coast surrounded by open water, dear family, and good friends. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef.

If the world ends, she plans to survive as the spunky, comedic sidekick to the heroes of the new world, because she’s too damned short and out of shape to make it on her own for long.
