About this ebook

18-NOVEL MYSTERY SERIES

His first murder investigation in charge…and Joe Rafferty’s already got trouble in spades.

Because he suspects the case of the 'Faceless Lady' is a poisoned chalice. Gifted by his new boss who is only waiting for Rafferty to fail to put the boot in.

If Superintendent ‘Long Pockets’ Bradley has got some detective favourite he’s hoping to slot into his space, the case of the ‘Faceless Lady’ looks likely to be the one to do it.

All he can do is grit his teeth and hope for a lucky break. But when he gets it, it’s from such an unlikely source that he suspects the fates are having a laugh at his expense. But it’s the only clue he’s got, so he has to follow it up.

Will he end up with egg on his face? Or solve the murder against all the odds?

Rafferty wishes he knew. The only thing he’s sure of is that his boss won't hesitate to get rid of him if he drops the ball. Determined to deprive him of that satisfaction, he goes with his gut-instinct, but keeps his fingers crossed all the way.

About the author

Geraldine Evans comes from a traditionally-published background. But after having eighteen novels published that way (Macmillan, St Martin's Press, Worldwide, Hale, Severn House, Isis (audio), in 2010, she decided to branch out on her own and turn indie.

She has now digitally-published all of her backlist to which she currently holds the rights, as well as five new Rafferty & Llewellyn novels and The Egg Factory, a medical suspense. She has also published non-fiction.

Geraldine Evans is originally a Londoner, but in 2000 she and George, her late husband, moved to Norfolk in East Anglia; a pretty and historic market town handy for coast, country and city.

She enjoys gardening, painting portraits in oils, mostly of her 'volunteered' reluctant family, learning GIMP, photo manipulation software, so she can create her own covers (of which she has now done a few) and learning keyboards. Feel sorry for her neighbours as she's far from challenging Mozart.

Geraldine hopes you enjoy her novels. She writes to entertain and to take her readers out of their own world and into another.
