The man I fell in love with was handsome and charming, a man who turned my stomach into a cage of butterflies just at the sight of him. He was the type of man who made me weak in the knees, vulnerable to his whispered words. Someone who made me feel wanted and needed—placed me on a pedestal in the centre of his world. He wasn’t someone so lost inside his jealousy and anger that he could hit or control me. No. That was the man I was going to marry. I just didn’t know it then.
