About this ebook

Always the same destination…

…an extinction event

This is not the first version of the universe.

Our technology brings us to an extinction event and we self-destruct, again and again. 1,142 times so far.

Can we finally break the cycle?

Or are we stuck in a simulation?

A Prequel - NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

Mathematics professor Lawrence Chu is in love with professor Kassman.

One night he made a drunken claim that the central tendency of the universe indicated they should kiss again. The seemingly nonsensical argument that followed resulted in a breakthrough mathematical model and a weapon.

This is a history of that weapon.

They are the Goodness Empire and they control 80% of the universe.

Don't let the name fool you. It is an empire built on conquest and slavery. Five former enemies now navigate a bumpy new era of cooperation.

Chiro is First Minister and head of the largest faction. He is a ruthless leader and 80% is not enough for him.

Scientists are about to give him the weapon he needs to finally destroy the rebels in the outer spiral arms.

Elaine McGee is a teacher in a slump.

Dark clouds follow her everywhere. So she's making changes. She's broken up with her lying, cheating boyfriend and quit smoking for a start.

She's in a tent out in the woods making a plan to turn her life around. A weekend of fresh air and fresh starts.

Then the spaceship arrived.

Welcome to the Final War, Earthling.

RESET

Behind the matter/anti-matter barrier it is just another quantum physics experiment. Remove the barrier and it will destroy the universe.

Can the most improbable team ever created save us? What should you do?

Use all your vacation and call your mother.

THE FINAL WAR HAS BEGUN.

Loved every book in this series. Steve M has a great ability to draw you in and make you laugh. Not hysterical, but a nice chuckle. Can't wait to read his other works. Thanks Steve M, keep up the good work.

It is smartly written, witty and fun to read. Yes you can question plenty of the story lines, math, consequences etc but you'll still enjoy the book.

About the author

Steve M escaped from the information cages in the data prison of mega corp right before they sucked the last bit of life force from him. Years of weekly project and program reports had left him weak, exhausted and disoriented to the world outside. There is no exception handling in the outside world.

Educated at the universities of America, Steve M exited with a Masters degree, although it mostly served to pushed him deeper into debt at mega corp. Still, he enjoyed the education experience and became a life-long learner.

No more 3rd person, ok?

I like to write science fiction because of a simple belief: there really is no magic, only things we don't understand....yet. Science Fiction is the realm where incredible things become possible because of technology rather than mythical/magical explanations. Just a stretch of the technical imagination is all that's needed for it to be real....and that means its a possible outcome.

I like to write political thrillers because I believe that we've been in a dystopia for decades now and it is finally becoming visible in the western world. The third world has known it since before the term Third World was coined. Our fetish attitude towards economic growth rather than focusing on economic development seems suicidal in a finite ecosystem. Eventually we poison it too much for our own species.

I won't apologize for writing cannabis focused stories. Its a bad law and I like to tell the story from the other side. Don't like it? Don't read them. But they are fun to write and I like the hard-hitting, ain't not heroes round here, noir style. It's like an unexpected punch to the gut. And there's always something else going on in these stories, another much larger story.

Its warm in Florida with my wife and two cats.
I hope you like the stories.
