The Reclaiming Honor Omnibus (Books 1-8): A Kurtherian Gambit Series Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 689 ratings

The History of the World wasn't what Valerie was taught.

The daughter of a vampire and sister of a devil walking, Valerie finds out she has something neither her brother nor her father possess:

She has Honor.

Setting off on a journey to America, she finds herself stepping up to be the Justice Enforcer the land needs. She will fight for the oppressed. She will destroy evil.

This digital box set contains eight action-packed science fiction adventures:

Justice is Calling

Valerie must flee a brother who leaves her for dead. Because, if there is one thing Valerie understands?

It's that Justice Doesn't Turn the Other Cheek.

150 years after a near apocalypse, the world is rebuilding. Survival has become the only rule, and justice is in short supply. Now, Justice has come calling.

Claimed by Honor

The New York City-State wakes up and their world has been shaken to its core. The Enforcers have been scattered, but they aren't finished. This vampire is but a bump in their road to keeping the city-state in the hands of the CEO's.

The Were's are involved, some leave, some stay and new alliances are made and an old one broken.

However, in the end, it always comes back to heart and determination.

Judgment has Fallen

The City Has Changed... but not always for the better. Some love her, some hate her, but the one thing that is causing the city problems is Valerie herself. As a lightning rod, she needs to get out of the public's eye and allow the emotions to cool without her presence.

Whether she wants to, or not.

Angel of Reckoning

For this vampire, it's time to die... a second time.

Valerie understands that to take the fight to those who are attacking in New York, she needs to leave the spotlight. Both for the city, and for herself.

Her enemies are relentless in their attacks to get to her. Since they have relocated to the Chicago City-State area, that is where she must go.

Born Into Flames

When Valerie and Robin head north to take on an army of post-apocalyptic pirates, the deadly duo find themselves on a thrill-ride of air-ship battles and full-on assaults against pirate strongholds.

Her friends back in Old Manhattan discover an attempt at mutiny, while Sandra learns that being an expecting mother doesn't mean she has to stop kicking ass and taking names.

Everyone must step up their game, or be consumed by the flames of this new world.

Defending the Lost

A time of reckoning has come for the council of Toro, a bandit city about to burst with corruption and injustice.

Valerie refuses to allow her world to rot, and she's brought friends to help her teach the council a lesson.

Saved By Valor

A dream of peace. A hand of justice. A time for closure.

Valerie has found her way full circle, heading back to Europe, where it all began. New enemies await, calling themselves The Gods, and the journey to put an end to the atlantic pirate problem means dealing with the local trouble makers as well as these false gods.

Return of Victory

The future of the world is in their hands, and they will set it right.

Valerie has returned to New York in a time of reckoning. When an enemy declares war on her and her friends, there's no holding back. The whole gang reunites for a fight-fest of epic proportions that promises to determine the fate of their lands once and for all.

The princess has returned, and she will have her Victory.

The Reclaiming Honor series is part of The Kurtherian Gambit Universe.

This story felt a little different from those of Terry Henry or BA's, in that it was more personal and delt with Valerie's feelings about the changes she and her friends were going through instead of how they were adapting to the world around them.
I can understand how some people may not enjoy that as much, but I felt it was a nice change and enjoyed reading every word.
I'm also sure that I want to get back to what we're used to.
Definitely worth ready and I hope to hear from Valerie more in the future.

Picked up the boxed set, after reading the KG main series then the dark messiah series, will be moving on to THW’s series next I think. I’ve enjoyed each book in this universe so far, and think the collaborations have gone well, from a reader’s standpoint anyway. They are close enough in tone and pitch, that you have a fair idea what you are getting in to, but it also varies enough with each author for there to be something new and interesting.

This 8 book box set was great! I loved most of the main characters. Still not sure about Cammie. She is some kind of weird. But what would the story be without her. First time I've read Justin Sloan and I'm thinking just WOW!!!!! Back to old time attention to detail in writing. I don't know what has happened to schools & teachers. Most E-books I read are full of grammatical errors.. Not here. Great! That stuff drives me crazy. Once I took a college test to see what I should do in life. Results were I should be a writer. Unfortunately I couldn't write myself out of a paper bag. I realized I should have been an editor. So, that said, I only found 2 grammar errors, other than a few typos. My fave to pick on: weaved should be wove, and sneaked should have been snuck. I have a list of about a dozen that current writers get wrong. So, great job Justin!!!
Justin, thanks for a great read!!! Keep up the good work. Is there a reading order for all of the KGU books? I want to read them all. Just finished Death Becomes Her book set 1-7. And thank you Michael Anderle for starting this universe. Both of you are awesome!!!! ( I have that problem also)!!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

I had not realized that this was part of the KGU when I bought the boxed set. But watching Valerie and her friends use their abilities to work for good, was inspiring! We get to see both the worst and the best of humanity in these stories. We also get to see people of every kind, work together, to achieve a miracle! Hope Valerie and Robin continue to kick Lutheran butt in their future! All the related series are awesome reading, but be warned, there are so many of them.

I read each of these books as they were released. I read in Kindle Unlimited because they were coming out quickly, so quickly that I bought none of the Kurtherian books. But now? As a set? As a bargain? I bought them immediately.

And why did I buy them? Not because they are a bargain. There have been many series to spin off ever since Bethany Ann made her first appearance in Death Becomes Her, most of them excellent. This one? One of my favorites of all the series.
Valerie has a lot in common with BA, one thing in particular: She collects people into her circle, people who might be (or have been) cast offs but with her they find their spot.

In this series you get all 8 Reclaiming Honor books in one set. Don't waste time! Buy them! Get started reading! And if you have bought the original Kurtherian Gambit series, get them too. Start there but get started but even if you don't start at the beginning, this will be good. It is DEFINITELY 5 STARS!

Good read: a lot of character depth, entertaining plot, a few twists and turns, and interesting enough to make it hard to put down. Again, a good read for a long trip, and an excellent set of books for these authors first real books.
Nicely done!

The Kurtherian Universe is vast, and filled with so many interesting characters you could read it exclusively for more than a year and still have stories to read. This is one of the more interesting ones. Valerie is tasked by Michael with protecting humanity from the Unknown World, those with no honor. She does this not only by killing the bad guys, but by also uniting regular humans and enhanced ones.
Valerie is stronger than her adversaries, but they are many, and spread all over the place. She even gets to visit Vikings, handle many pirates, and ensure none infiltrate her home, New York city. Valerie is so honor driven, she changes people who were selfish and very dangerous. One of her best allies began as an enemy.
Her methods are similar to the Queen, Bethany Anne and it appears she has the talent to back it up.
Definitely a must read for anyone who reads the Kurtherian Universe.
