Moon Crossed: Sky Brooks World: Ethan, Book 1
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
I protect my pack at all costs-and I never fail.
The vampires have broken our tentative truce and are threatening to destroy my pack. At the center of their scheme is Sky, an enigmatic lone wolf, who they believe is a weapon that can be used against us.
Nothing about the quiet, doe-eyed brunette screams "danger" or "ruthless weapon." And that's the problem. My wolf's instinct says to protect her, especially after a necromancer tries to kill her, the vampires repeatedly attempt to abduct her, and we receive a dire warning about her.
But as more is discovered about the elusive lone wolf, I quickly realize she's more dangerous than she looks.
Can I neutralize the situation and protect her life, or do what I do best-protect the pack at all costs?

- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2025This pairs with the first book in the Sky Brooks series. It was fascinating seeing things, including Skylar from Ethan's perspective. But he is still in fact, exactly as described by Skylar!
And yet, I'm immediately jumping back into the tandem read to see what's next.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2019I wasn't sure how I would like reading this from Ethan 's point of view, especially right after reading Skylar's, but I really enjoyed it! It's like getting a behind the scenes look at it. Even though parts of the story are the same I never got that "I've read this before" feeling. So, great job authors for two separately wonderful same stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2024Moon Crossed (Sky Brooks World: Ethan Book 1) ❤️🔥❤️❤️🔥❤️ This series is not your average Werewolf, Witch, Fae or Vampire novel. This story is about a Beta who This was interesting getting the story from Ethan's side. I definitely recommend this series / books and the audible books.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020This book and the Sky Brooks book 1 should have all been one book making an amazing book. Instead we have two average books that sort of stand alone. Not sure this book would have made any sense at all without reading the other book first...
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2017First I really enjoy the Sky Brooks series and I couldn't wait to read this book. I hoped I would like it but I didn't expect to love it. I don't always enjoy books rewritten in another characters perspective. But this worked. If anything, I liked it more. This is nothing against McKenzie Hunter and her writing. The first book is great the way it is. It's the way its supposed to be. Sky still makes dumb choice after dumb choice, that doesn't change, but we dont have to listen to her rationalize it all.
Here we hear everything from Ethan's side. I haven't liked him much throughout the series. He's the strong handsome hero. But he's also an arrogant ass too. This book I think humanizes him more. I understand him better and actually kinda like him.
To someone who hasn't read the series, I dont think this is where to start. I would start read the series first then this one. While nothing "new" happened here, I'm not sure it would be entirely clear to someone unversed in the world.
This is labeled as book 1. I look forward to more books in the future.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2018I enjoyed this book. It was of course very repetitive after I just finished the first book but it was great to get Ethan's side of what was happening.
Now I am going to get going on the next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020Eathans POV is something I didn’t know I needed till after reading it!!!!!!! I love this just as much as Skylars first book. I loved how there’s even more details to the events going on but also for his POV. It’s amazing and normally I don’t like these books but now I absolutely love it and look forward to more lol

5.0 out of 5 stars mmmmmm
Read this after skylar’s book 1. Though I skimmed most just to get ethans POV on the things we didn’t see behind the scenes. If only it could be merged…

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent start to Ethan's POV of Sky Brooks Series
**I received a gifted copy of the book an am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review**
Having already loved the original series from Sky's POV I was extremely excited when I found out that there was going to be a series from Ethan's POV. There is so much about Ethan that we don't know - his motives behind his actions and the hurtful yet honest things he says - mostly to Sky. . . I had high expectations for this book and for the author who would be filling some pretty big shoes, but I wasn't worried at all with this one and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I was at no point disappointed with what Emerson had written and he expertly provided us a gentler and different side to Ethan while still keeping to his usual a**hatness that is typical of the beta wolf.
I loved seeing his interactions with his brother Josh from his point of view and yeah you know he loves his brother and would go to hell and back for him and that was evident in Sky's POV, but you get a deeper understanding of his love and the things he's willing to do. His relationship with Sebastian and the amount of things he doesn't necessarily agree with surprised me, especially the second time Sky pulled the Houdini act. But most importantly, I loved seeing his relationship with Sky from his perspective, what he thought about her, and how it grew to the infamous kiss and his feelings for her along with his reasoning behind not wanting her part of the pack. I actually love him more because of this book.
I am highly anticipating the next one - even though book 2 is the one I like the least because of what happens between him and Chris, I didn't like when they came back into each others lives again. . . I am really wanting to know how it's going to be written and the logic behind him getting down and dirty with his ex-girlfriend again with the way he feels about Sky.
The book was extremely well written and I can't imagine what it must be like to write a book not being as connected to the characters and the story as much as the original author. His own writing style(?) worked well with McKenzie's and I noticed that some of the same language was used, which was nice to read. I felt that while you did get a sense that you were reading from a completely different character, it didn't make you feel that you were reading a completely different book of a completely different series altogether. I still felt connected to the original which was great for me....if any of that makes sense. All in all, Emerson did a fantastic job and I can't wait to read the rest of the series from Ethan's POV

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent male POV tale
“Moon Crossed” is book one in McKenzie Hunter’s Sky Brooks World: Ethan series. This series is in Ethan’s POV.
Being the Beta for the Midwest Pack it’s Ethan’a job to make sure each and every member of the pack are safe. But when a she-wolf becomes a temporary member of the pack and it’s there responsibility to keep her safe from the Seethe, Ethan’s job and roll becomes a lot harder. Especially when magic is involved.
After reading “Moon Tortured” I couldn’t wait to read this book and see what was going on in Ethans head. With each and every interaction he had with Skylar you could see a new side to him and I just needed to see what he was thinking. I was not disappointed, the struggles and trouble he has with being the Beta and the feelings towards Skylar was fantastic to read.
I can’t wait to continue this series and see how much Ethan is going to grow and change. Looking forward to what is next.
