Looking for more VERY Important Questions?

Collect all five books in this engaging series, with other kid-favorites including
Why Do Leaves Fall? and What Is the Moon Made Of? available now from Little Peaces, an imprint of Peace of Prose Publishing.

These poem-based stories explore different answers to their respective questions, with some answers whimsical, others rooted in folklore or science, and many of them inspired by real answers from real kids. By presenting inclusivity in a subtle, organic way, this series also strives to present young readers with generalized exposure to different cultural ideologies, fostering acceptance of diversity at an early age. The primary concept, however, is that by embracing the chaos of bedtime, and indulging busy little minds with creative poems and beautiful artwork, children will be able to rest calmer, easier, and more satisfied, allowing for the much-coveted smooth transition to sleep.

Jhiela Mirdamadi Poynter is a very busy, very tired (but also very clever) mom who has been collecting (stealing) story ideas from her children for years. The VERY Important Question Series is her way of using her children's creative ideas to convince them to go to bed (like I said, clever).

Every parent knows that bedtime means one more drink of water, a different blanket, a VERY important question that can't possibly wait until morning... But by engaging her children, embracing that curiosity, encouraging their creative thoughts, and exploring big questions with them (rather than hiding under her covers, hoping they would get bored and fall asleep), Jhiela learned that the quest to find sleep didn't have to be a struggle... it could even be fun. Haunted by the guilt of keeping this invaluable information to herself, she decided to share it with other very tired moms with her fun and whimsical series of bedtime stories.

When she isn't wrangling children and drinking copious amounts of coffee, Jhiela spends her free time with a full-time job in the legal field.

"Where Does the Wind Go? The Very Important Question Series, Book 3"
by Jhiela Mirdamadi Poynter is a wonderful book for young children. It sparks curiosity and encourages a love of learning in a fun. This charming picture book tackles the age-old question of where the wind disappears to, captivating young minds with its playful and imaginative approach. The story presents a variety of silly "answers" to the question, keeping children engaged and encouraging them to think creatively. While the book doesn't provide a definitive answer, it subtly introduces the concept of scientific observation and the importance of questioning the world around us.

This book raises a fun and thoughtful question that will excite children to share their own imaginative ideas. I love how it encourages them to think creatively and to connect with nature in a simple, relatable way. The story is engaging yet not overly complicated, and I really appreciate how it sparks curiosity and a sense of wonder in such an easy, natural way. The artwork is colorful and bright, keeping children’s attention. I highly recommend it for any family with inquisitive kids!

As with all great storytellers, Poynter's work defies classification. Somewhere at the intersection of the logical, fanciful, metaphysical (Carroll or Kipling anyone?) is the land of perfect bedtime stories, and Poynter has contributed to its monuments. Drift off to sleep with the profound and poetical with the Very Important Question series.

A cute, rhyming bedtime (or anytime) story for little kids giving opinions for why they think leaves fall and asking what the readers think the answer could be to promote problem solving and imagination. There are simple, colorful drawings kids like.

There is a series of books, which currently includes, "What is the moon made of?," "Why is the ocean blue?," "Why do leaves fall?," "How do birds fly?".
