Falling for Finn (and his dumb duck, too) (Honeyville High Romance Book 5) Kindle Edition
A modern-day retelling of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew.”
Honeyville High’s mean girl, Ava Presley, is not looking to change. But when a run-in with the school’s theater star, Finn Hayward, lands her in trouble with the principal, Ava is forced to choose between getting expelled or auditioning for the school musical. Reluctantly, she agrees, and lands the lead right alongside Finn.
Ava has no plans of trying to fit into his superficial world, except the more she gets to know him, the more she realizes how wrong she’s been. Even Finn’s insane killer duck is not what he seems. But just when things finally start going her way, she discovers that the only way to save everything she’s come to love is by giving it all up.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025This fun, exciting and emotional story captivated me from the very beginning. I had a hard time putting it down. I loved being able to share Ava’s last few months of her senior year with her. She was a very unhappy teenager and very lonely. Those few months took many fun, unexpected turns and was so exciting to read about. Hank, the dumb duck definitely added to this clean wholesome story. Kimberly King did a fantastic job!!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025Falling for Finn was a delightful read for me. It has just the right amount of humor to balance the teenage angst that high school experience brings. The reader follows The Taming of the Shrew in a modern setting with insights into the socialization of a young girl with feelings of inadequacy and longing for acceptance. The absurdity of her dilemma is highlighted by the frequent appearance of a goose that adopts her as his own and sometimes only friend.
