Snowflakes and Sparks: A Feel-Good Christmas Romantic Comedy (Old Pine Cove Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 4,330 ratings

Uh-oh. I’m in trouble. My new neighbor is the gorgeous guy I shared my first kiss with ten years ago—right before I broke his heart.

If your boss ever asks you to run a bookstore in a charming small town, you have the option of saying heck no.

I wish I’d realized this earlier, but it’s too late for me now. I’ve already arrived in Old Pine Cove, the one place on earth I swore I’d never return to. Thank goodness it’s only for the holidays. Don’t get me wrong, managing a bookstore has been a lifelong dream of mine and I do love Christmas. The problem is Alex Denverton opening the door with that smoldering look of his. I never expected to see him again after breaking his heart, let alone live next door to the guy, yet here I am in this giant Christmas pickle.

Now all I want for Christmas is a second chance with him. Surely that isn’t too much to ask for, is it? Yeah, with my luck, I’m not getting my hopes up.

Snowflakes and Sparks is the first book in this feel-good series full of humor and heart by USA TODAY Bestselling Author Sophie-Leigh Robbins. For a funny read you can’t put down, grab your copy today and get transported to the small town of Old Pine Cove.

Great little winter read!
Feel good romantic comedy is spot on in describing this little winter gem! I loved every moment of Suzie and Alex's story. The misunderstandings, the support, the falling... it was all just so sweet! Will definitely be reading more by #sophieleighrobbinsbooks

Snowflakes and Sparks is a cute story. It is a light, wholesome, and fun story to read. A young woman, hoping for a promotion, is sent to a town she had no desire to return to, to run a small bookstore. The town also was home to a former male friend, that she did not want to see again. As the story progresses, so does her life and her interactions with that former friend, that cute friend she liked many years ago. This is a good story, a fun-filled one that will make you smile and make your day a little bit brighter and happier. I recommend it highly.

Super cute short read. The history was well written and the holidY activities were great for the books location. The twist of the villain was a little surprising but well done.

Alex and Suzie were both likeable characters. I do love a good second chance story and this one started out strong. But the last few chapters ruined it for me. I really dislike books wherein two adults have issues that would have been solved by a 2 minute conversation. But having Suzie run off to Miami, get drunk, and go skinny dipping with her gay friend was just so out of left field. It ruined the story for me.

There are zero sex scenes, and just a few semi-passionate kisses so this would be considered clean romance for most people. Sex is either discussed or considered by some characters, though, which may be a turnoff for some readers.

As sweet as candycanes and as warming as hot chocolate.
At seventeen, Suzie embarrassed herself while on holiday, and with her holiday romance, too. She swore never to return to Pine Cove, but that is where her boss sends her. And where she meets her teenage sweetheart, Alex, again.
Fully festive, sweetly romantic and a lovely read. I really enjoyed this story.

For me... this book wasn't it. The characters had no real depth to them, they were dull. The guy was se...ualised so much by everyone and everything... that's basically all he had to him. And a sad past...
And their conversations were smalltalk at best and just a boring tennis game of compliments and weird flirts.
No real character development, cringy and predictable.

Sad I thought the idea was very sweet, the execution not so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sweet romantic comedy
