A Duet with the Daredevil (Hearts in Tune Book 1) Kindle Edition
He may be the darling of the classical music world, but she knows the truth. The cello prodigy and heir to billions is a whole lot of conceit and not enough commitment.
Yet when the cellist of her quartet abandons the group, June suddenly must consider Arlo as a replacement to save her career. Especially after he comes to her with an offer of a lucrative summer gig at the Alpine Music Festival where they first met.
Forced to put his solo career on hold because of a recent arm injury, Arlo needs no convincing to play in a quartet with June Tao, the girl he has had a crush on since their first encounter twelve years ago at summer music camp. A summer in the Swiss Alps may just be the second chance he needs with June. But a month-long trial period is all she will give him, and she has yet to discover his dangerous obsession with motocross—an obsession that may threaten both their careers.
He can’t say no to high speeds and thrills. And when he falls, he falls hard.
Can June ever love a daredevil like him?

- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2025This was a wonderful and sweet story about two musicians who must play in a string quartet together. The violinist of the group, June, has disliked Arlo ever since they started off on the wrong foot twelve years ago at summer music camp, and now they have a second chance to work toward romance. The rich and famous Arlo used to be a soloist but has had to give up his career to join the quartet. Though he claims he's committed the group's success, he won't stop putting himself at risk to race motocross. I loved seeing how the main characters mature over time and come to understand and support each other through difficult times in their lives. The beautiful setting in the Alps makes this book a perfect escape read. I also really enjoyed all the details about classical music and motocross. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sweet, enemies to lovers romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2025It was okay. It was slow in parts. I don't know if I like June and Arlo as a couple. They are really different people who seem to make deep basic changes to their core personalities in order to be together. Do opposites attract and compromises are made in a relationship, but this seems different. I felt like Arlo made all the changes, and June just realized she missed judged Arlo. I didn't feel the connection between them as I read.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2025Well written, full of drama, love, loss, intrigue, daring, emotions and growing up. June is a young lady who plays in a quartet but now they are down to three. In looking for a fourth , they are short a cellist. Arlo meet June 12 years ago at a festival and has never really forgotten her. When offered to join their group, Arlo jumps at the chance. There is a enemy to lovers plot to this story. He has to prove to her that he really does care about her but has a hard time. To June, he has gotten everything so easy in life. Not knowing about an accident with a car that almost destroys his playing career plus his side line of motocross racing. He shows his love for racing but the injury to his arm is making things harder in his life. Not only with his driving but with his music. As they work together, June comes to know him better and has even fallen for him. Feelings grow and choices need to be made. These characters are witty and passionate driven, all are multidimensional. Would recommend to everyone.
I received this story and leave unbiased, honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2025This was a very cute and quick read I enjoyed so much. The enemies to lovers trope in this book wasn’t overdone to where the main characters getting together felt forced. The progression of the relationship between June and Arlo didn’t seem too fast or slow it was a great pace of a story.
