This is a well-written account of youngsters banding together to find strength in supporting each other, looking beneath superficial reality to root causes, and exercising abilities they didn’t realize they’d had. Also, it teaches that the “final stand” may just be another step in a long, hard journey. Finally, there’s the story of redemption, where past sins are acknowledged and expunged. This is a fine YA spooky story that teaches important lessons.
