The Mars Migration Kindle Edition
Abductions. Time pausing anomalies on the Earth. A quest to get home.
Amber and Daniel, two ordinary people from Earth, are snatched from their everyday life after witnessing sphere-like objects crash land from the sky.
One sphere lands in Selkirk, Canada. Another in the West Midlands, UK. After crashing, these objects send out a protective field to pause time around itself, trapping people where they stand.
Amber in Canada and Daniel in the UK are the only ones unaffected.
The adventure starts when they are called to these devices and then torn far away from their homes, ending up at the other side of a black hole.
Trapped right in the middle of a civilisation at war in the dark space, they must bide their time, and follow the path set out before them. When a helping hand offered by a stranger may change everything.
General public, and the Police on the outside of the “bubble” back on Earth are baffled. Who could possibly produce something like this? A rogue state flexing their muscles, or could these anomalies be extra-terrestrial in design?

"The ending of the novel had me at the edge of my seat the whole way through, a purely addictive debut novel that I couldn't put down. The surprise at the end also made my jaw drop, and with some level of truth I ended up throwing it across my bedroom."

"I thought this worked well as a scifi novel, it had a unique concept and was executed well. The characters were what I was looking for in this universe. Wayne M. Bailey has a great writing style and it worked well overall, it left me wanting to read more from the author and glad I got to read this."

"A gripping and well-crafted science fiction novel that kept me engaged from beginning to end. The world-building is excellent, and the alternate universe in which Amber and Daniel find themselves is intriguing and unique. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and I appreciated how the book explored the theme of loyalty in the face of unexpected circumstances. The plot is full of twists and turns, and the ending left me wanting more."

About the author
Wayne M. Bailey has published his debut science fiction novel - The Mars Migration. Born and raised in Walsall, England, Wayne worked as an apprentice electrical engineer, before leaving the practical side of the electrical field to move into the sales side of the industry. During his youth, Wayne's fascination with the unknown was sparked when he witnessed a UFO in his hometown, also learning about his father's own UFO experience, barely two streets away. This, coupled with being a huge science fiction movie geek, growing up in the eighties with the amazing selection of films that we did, provided the inspiration for creating a science fiction work of his own.
Wayne is an engaging author who loves to interact with people on social media. He loves to read about UFO reports and space developments in general. He loves spending time with his family, loves an ale, and holidays. Wayne's main objective is that people simply enjoy the story that he has to tell.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2023This is a very fun book—the author appropriates several staples of sci-fi history and breathes fresh life into them through subtle recoloring. The inspiration for the ending is wonderfully creative. All-in-all, a great read!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2023A great read I was surprised by the political twist to the book of the waring factions. Lots of great action and creative writing. A wonderful read. I found this book on a book blog that features great science fiction reads.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2023Spence in time to earth teenagers had an opportunity to live the adventure of a lifetime. The story move rather quickly and involves a good deal of science fiction so that the reader has got to suspend reality just a bit.
This is a great feel good story.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2024The Mars Migration was an easy to read, enjoyable sci-fi book. Told in three perspectives, it tells the story from the point of view of humans from earth that have been taken to another dimension/time, the people left behind on earth, and beings that took the humans.
The storyline was good, but I feel like there could have been more details added to make the story a bit more intricate. It seemed too simplistic at times. And while I don’t like overly technical or complicated sci-fi books, this book needed a bit more added. The way things were tied up at the end seemed a little too neat for my tastes. That being said, it was still a good read and I enjoyed it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2023Ebook/Science Fiction: I saw this book description on Netgalley and really thought this book was for me. It starts off as a cross between The Dome and Stranger in a Strange Land. All is well until 30% into the book. The narrative is long-winded and irrelevant. The dialogue is unrealistic with the speaker stating the person's name every other sentence.
Then we get to the switch. After finding out that the sphere randomly picked up two people from our solar system, my first question would be, "How do you know English and what are is everyone humanoid"? Even if the originals were from Earth, language would be different over decades and in its own dialect. As the book progressed, I skipped over lots of narrative.
Am I begin hard on this book? Yes. The reason why is, I can throw reality, science, and pseudo science out the window and love a book if it's written well. This one is not and I found myself nitpicking at the plot. The ending was horrible and really made no sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't stop reading!
Incredible book. It has that classic sci-fi feel! The story is tight and concise and just when you’re ready for the action to heat up; it does!
The two characters are taken from Earth and become involved in a much wider political and civil war. What starts off as a typical alien abduction story reveals itself to be much more.
I can't share too many favorite parts without spoiling the major twists, but if you like mysterious Sci-Fi, this book is a great choice.
The story takes you along at a measured pace, drip-feeding the overall picture of why Amber and Daniel were taken. Then, just before the second half of the book is the “aha” moment where it all becomes clear.
The pace then increases further as both just desperately wish to get home. I would have loved to see more of the visitors’ world, the brief descriptions left me wanting more. But maybe that’s just the sci-fi nerd in me! Too much focus on the "alien" world would have distracted from the story.
Which is ultimately about two young people who just want to go home.
A truly enjoyable read, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. I can’t wait to see what the author does next! I'm primarily a non-fiction reader but this author has got me back into classic sci-fi fiction again. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read, from a debut author.
I've always had a fascination with a good indie sci-fi book, and this doesn't disappoint! To be fair, I wasn't sure what to expect as the title and cover don't give much away, especially from a debut author. I have to say that it turned out to be one of those books that you just can't put down. The characters seem so relatable, in such an original story. It's weird how the story/ plot, seems so closely related to a potential reality!
This one is definitely worth a read! The author has worked hard on this, and I'm looking forward to any future instalments :D

4.0 out of 5 stars Good local read
I don’t read a lot of sci fi but wanted to read this as being local to Walsall it was interesting. Good story I could have read more, didn’t take too long to read as once I started it I struggled to put it down. Loved the descriptions of Canada in the early chapters got a real sense of location and the little diner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read
I am not really into science fiction but knowing that this book was written by a local author and one of the characters is from the same locality as myself, I just had to read it. Plus, we all wonder what and who is out there in the big wider galaxy.
I found the read quite easy and gripping. It was hard to put down once you start reading it.
You needed to know if Amber and Daniel would make it back home.
The imagination needed to write such a book was a great feat. Wayne said he got his inspiration from his late father's experience and what Wayne witnessed himself years later. Well done Wayne on a book well written.
This book needs a sequel as the story could go even further with Amber and Daniel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great debut book
Not usually a Sci-Fi reader but seeing the story is partly based in the town I grew up in I thought I’d give it a whirl. I must say that it was a great read and further more, is encouraging me to look at more books in this genre. The story is enjoyable from start to finish and has many great characters. I will certainly be looking out for more from this author, great job!👍🏻👍🏻
