4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 268 ratings

She's trying to manage a hotel; he's trying to manage his fans. They are both snowed in with an ex.

With Mia’s boss away for the holidays, she finally has a chance to prove herself worthy for the position of manager of the rustic Powder Peaks Lodge. But as a blizzard rolls into Hidden Hollow, the small town just outside of Park City, Utah, Mia is given far more than she bargained for in running the hotel—and avoiding her only VIP guest and ex-boyfriend, Elliot James.

When TV star Elliot shows up to the hotel for his family’s annual Christmas ski vacation, he beats the incoming storm by mere hours—and his family by days. Cut off from the world, Elliot determines to help Mia deal with the guests and effects of the blizzard—even if she wants nothing to do with him.

As Mia and Elliot put aside their past and work together to care for the inhabitants of Powder Peaks Lodge, will sparks fly under the mistletoe?

Each book in the Christmas in the City series can be read as a stand-alone novel, but they each contain holiday themes and clean & wholesome content.

This was my first Kacey Stockton book but it won't be my last. In Snowed In on Main Street, she has written an engaging story with genuine characters. Old misunderstandings drive this second-chance story but the angst isn't overwhelming, as it often is in this genre. The holiday spirit comes through as a resort filled with people trapped in a snowstorm make more than the best of things. The story kept me coming back for more.

Sweet, second chance, Christmas romance. This could easily be the plot for a Hallmark movie. The characters were likable and relatable. Well I can't relate to being a famous actor but other elements are relatable. Great read for a cozy evening next to the fireplace while sipping hot cocoa.

    No sex, language or violence

SNOWED IN ON MAIN STREET is a standalone read with a happy ever after. There are no sex scenes or colorful language so any age can read and enjoy. It is a sweet clean second chance romance. The story is set in a remote ski lodge in Utah.

Mia is the manager in charge. Her boss left for Arizona to be with her family and left Mia in charge. A little nervous Mia has everything under control. She has an extended family coming to the lodge as is their tradition to celebrate Christmas. She is making last minute rounds to make sure everything is perfect. She spots a toy under one of the big king size beds so she gets down on the floor to remove it. The room must be perfect even though the new guest would probably never see the ball. When she crawls out from under the bed she comes face to face with the man she never wanted to see again. Elliott.

Elliott was the love of her life. They dated in high school and went on to become engaged. He was a snowboarder and was headed to the Olympics. Then the unthinkable happened. He was severely injured in a skiing accident. With his back broke and the diagnoses that he would never walk normally again, he cut off all ties with her. Never gave her an explanation just disappeared from her life. She has been angry with him for 6 years.

A few other guests have arrived when the snow closed all the roads coming and going. There was also an avalanche that has damaged a bridge. The lodge is cut off from the town. If you are on the mountain, you have to stay on the mountain until they can repair the bridge.

There are a lot of things happening at the lodge. Elliott tries several times to talk to Mia and explain what happened. She doesn't want to hear it. Elliott went on to become a movie star on a sit-com. He was very popular and Hollywood jumped on that wagon. So he is now a big movie star with all the stuff that goes along with that.

The days before Christmas are very entertaining and interesting. Especially when his co-star shows up and disrupts everything. But, it is Christmas a time for magic and all things good. This is a cute story and I definitely recommend it.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/21/2020

Mia is finally getting an opportunity to prove herself in hopes of making manager at the lodge where she works - just as her former fiancé shows up -- with a snowstorm not far behind.

The story was immediately engaging & kept me reading to find out what happened & why. The information was given gradually - slow enough to keep me intrigued but fast enough not to feel artificially drawn out.

I wasn't too sure about Mia, initially, but the more I read/listened, the more I liked her. The story itself is relatively lighthearted. There's necessarily some angst owing to the premise, but it's over what happened in the past, so it doesn't bring the story down.

A the same time, I particularly liked the resolution at the end which manages to have true love win while still keeping things real & honest. A very enjoyable story!

*Romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic

[The narrator reads with a natural voice & does a great job of distinguishing the various characters' voices]

I listened to this audiobook on YouTube. I really enjoyed it. It is a sweet, second chance romance. Mia worked really hard to keep the hotel running when the guests get snowed in.

Snowed in at a hotel in a small town--"She" is acting as manager and trying to prove herself while her boss is away. "He" is a celebrity coming back to join his family for their holiday gathering at the hotel, but the rest of them don't get there before the town is cut off by the snow. "They" have a history with each other. Another clever story and a great holiday escape read. I actually bought the whole series on my Kindle when it first came out. This year I bought the paperbacks because I wanted to share them with my daughter, sister-in-law, and hubby's 90-year-old aunt. She just finished them and enjoyed them all. Kasey is one of my favorites for a light, but interesting read.

Mia and Elliott had been together a long time and then engaged, but things happen and plans go awry. It had been years, and Mia had moved on, until her past walked in the lodge's door. Through a barrage of unforeseen events, Mia and Elliott spent time together, communicated and provided a happy ending. Enjoyable Christmas romance.
