”Kid Legends” is a perfect book for youngsters. We read history books and biographies as adults not only to get information, to learn about the past, to find out how others lead their lives especially to greatness, but also for inspiration, to get reasons to change and how to do it. This book has stories of nine lives of very successful people in various professions. Their stories are told in an easy to read fashion and the book’s drawings will capture the interest of the reader. Children will benefit by reading the book. They will be inspired to improve and will get information on how to do it. The book is part of a series of similar books.

What a great book!! This is our first book from this series and we'll definitely have to get more.

Got it for my 7 year old and ended up really liking it myself. There are things that I didn't know about each of the people listed and I found myself feeling inspired. I also like that there's a mix of generations in the people they chose.

For my daughter, she can get frustrated with herself when learning new things and not getting it right away. Also great that it covers many life and social challenges-not just academic. Being shy, clumsy and dealing with mean kids. It does a pretty good job of conveying some of their hardships, J.K. Rowling for example, without getting to heavy for younger audiences- and showing ways they used their passions and talents to get through difficult times.

And it's neat to get a glimpse of their personalities and lives.

I think it's a fun read, great pictures and great message to help encourage and inspire kiddos (and maybe even their parents ☺ )

Though legends now, all were once kids who had to face difficulties of one sort or another. This book tells the true stories of some of the best known people when they were children. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

This book will inspire children to address their fears and reaffirm their aspirations. It is divided into three parts. The first part explores difficulties overcome by J.K. Rowling, Peyton Manning, and Charles Schultz before they became successful. The second part discusses the struggles of Pablo Picasso, Muhammed Ali, and Ulysses Grant during childhood and how they overcame their handicaps to achieve fame. Part Three examines the role that family life played in the early lives of Jeff Kinney, John F. Kennedy, and Gabby Douglas. Before closing, the author and illustrator reveal facts about themselves.

The illustrations are rich and detail and humorous. They are fun to look at and read. This book is perfect for middle-grade readers who are dealing with the same type of issues, bullying, family and peer relationships, and self-esteem. The book also provides an opportunity for jump-starting group discussions.

Found this to be an interesting book with a lot of stories that contained information on kids that turned into legends.

Inspiration can be found for the younger ones in your life. I found it to be most informative as well as interesting.

Your children will like it, I think. The legends are real as are the stories of their childhoods...

    Most highly recommended.

I learned much that I didn't know before. I would recommend this book not only for kids, but adults as well. If you don't have time to read a whole biography of a famous person, this is a great way to learn more: in a little snippet.

I got it from Kindle for ₹0 . Thanks Kindle for giving me such a good book for free when many crap books ( for kids ) are available for ₹ 300-400 . In this book ! You will get brief introduction to the childhood years of many greats in their fields like Picasso & J.K.Rowling in the form of short incidents and stories . The stories are really inspiring and full of insight . Read a story to your child on a holiday and then discuss about mindset of the person in story . That will surely enhance the vision of your kid for life . I must say this book is an ASSET in your kids' library .

I only got part of the way through J.K. Rowling's "biography" before giving up in total boredom. The constant interrupting pictures made the text so disjointed that I just couldn't get into it - and the writing style wasn't interesting enough for more than one read anyway, even had the book not been illustrated. A total waste of time.
