Biography

My ideas about the fate of Western Civilisation have been formed in political campaigning that challenged the social contract of Anglophone countries. That, plus never having been employed in an occupation favoured by our theatrical political system (that is, lawyers, journalists, economists, bankers, and company directors). Just a plain old mechanical engineer who designs safety-critical infrastructure for a living. I am not left-wing, by the way (nor right-wing, to be clear), but I've read a lot of history, lived in a number of different countries, and come to certain conclusions on the basis of observation and factual evidence.
Every society is a herd of cattle being driven to market by its elite. No exceptions. We in the West do not normally consider our societies to be unduly ideological, but they are; it's just that we've never lost a war. It's only by losing a war that the people finally see the social contract that drove them to disaster. In the end, we'll see our social contract all too clearly, but it will be too late.
Think about the trends in Western societies. They can't continue forever. Which one will break first?
