Description

Former orphan Janawyn Stahl is content working in her godfather’s toy shop and trading Shakespearean insults with a suspiciously talkative automaton named Theo, a gift from a faerie king. But increasing dangers, first from the mysterious Mr. Rinks and then from the evil Mouse King, threaten to separate Theo from Janawyn forever. In this nineteenth-century fantasy retelling of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, Janawyn must decide how much she values this doll—if he is a doll—and to what lengths she’ll go to protect him.
