This book comprises 50 personal essays I wrote while living in Chicago and writing a blog for ChicagoNow called Stop and Blog the Roses.
The point of Stop and Blog the Roses was to find something to be grateful for every single day, no matter what. Some days, it was hard to do, so I had to push myself. And the exercise, I have no doubt, rewired my brain. Like regular physical exercise changes muscles, regular gratitude changed my thinking.
