At Book Cave, we believe every reader should have an idea of what goes into a book BEFORE you lay out hard-earned money. You see not only the overall rating but WHY each reader rated a book that way. So maybe you are comfortable reading books that are violent on an adult level, but you don’t like adult language. Maybe you don’t mind passionate kissing, but you draw the line at graphic intimacy. Or maybe you only want books with detailed love scenes. Now at one glance, you can see the details for each book, regardless of rating, and make better choices for you.

Community Ratings
Authors give their book a rating when we display the book on our Deals page, but on our Book Ratings page, we rely heavily on community ratings. That means anyone can rate a book they’ve read. If you disagree with a rating, please rate the book and let your voice be heard. We believe the reading community as a whole will be able to give average ratings on books that will help you and your family make positive choices about your reading.
My Book Ratings is free for everyone to use or to rate books. This database is for the community by the community. Please join the effort! To maintain the quality of our community ratings, you do need to log in to rate books.
We Can’t Do it Alone
With millions of books already in print and many more being published daily, we need readers to rate books for content. Until a reader, author, or publisher adds and rates a book, it won’t be on our My Book Ratings page, so WE NEED YOU! By using the comment section on each book, you can also let the world know how you feel about the book’s content and agree or disagree with others’ ratings and comments.
Spread the Word
Do you have a book club, teach a school class, live with roommates, participate in an author group, or maybe attend a church? Please let all those you interact with know about our My Book Ratings database. Now is your chance to be heard. People use My Book Ratings to choose books to read on their comfort level, and the more books we have, the more you can choose from.
Official Content Ratings (RATED BY MBR)
As every reader comes into a book with different expectations and life experiences, there will be some disagreement. Because of this we have created Official Ratings, and when you see books marked with those icons, that means our team has personally read and rated them. You can trust that these books will always have the appropriate content level according to our guidelines.
If you feel the books we’ve rated don’t quite match your own idea, that’s okay. Just keep that in mind as you choose books to read, either going up or down a rating according to your preferences.
Sometimes MBR may also place profanity or content warnings on books we haven’t officially rated when it’s obvious that someone has inaccurately reported the content. We have a thorough review system in place for these occurrences and do our best to weed out people who intentionally try to abuse the system. We feel that ratings on all books will become more accurate as more people read and rate them. Discounted books
Authors and publishers often have discounts on their books. If you’d like to hear when content-rated ebooks go on sale, please sign up on our main Book Cave page and choose the genres and ratings you’re interested in. Happy reading!
